Montclair State University MBA students Katarina Rodriguez and Nova Pierre Louis are organizing TEDx Montclair: The Domino Effect, scheduled for Tuesday, June 24, 2025. The event will take place at Montclair Mezzanine on Bloomfield Avenue in Montclair.

Rodriguez explains the theme: “It’s about the small things that lead to something bigger.” She believes that significant changes can stem from minor actions. The event aims to bring together thought leaders and creatives to discuss how small actions can create lasting change in communities.

The organizers are applying their knowledge from Montclair's Feliciano School of Business to give a platform to diverse voices and ideas. Both Rodriguez and Pierre Louis graduated with bachelor’s degrees in Business Administration from Montclair in 2024 and are expected to complete their MBAs by August. Rodriguez works as an assistant for Faculty-Led International Programs in Study Abroad, while Pierre Louis will join Feliciano Global as a programs associate starting July.

TEDx Montclair emphasizes social mobility as a shared responsibility. The event features speakers who will share personal stories and solutions challenging the status quo. Among them is Chris W. Fitzpatrick ’04, who will discuss mentorship's role in transformation, and Anjali Badrinath ’24 PhD, who will talk about empathy as a tool for collective change.

Pierre Louis compares organizing TEDx to running a business, highlighting the application of classroom knowledge alongside practical experience. Although independently organized under TED's license, the event aligns with Montclair State University's mission of broadening access and opportunity.

TEDx Montclair is set for June 24 at 6 p.m., with tickets available through tedxmontclair.com.

Prospective students interested in joining Montclair State University still have time to apply for fall 2025 or prepare applications for fall 2026 beginning August 1. More information about business programs is available through the Feliciano School of Business.
