U.S. Congressman Bill Pascrell, Jr. (D-NJ-09) today commented on the announcement by the Environmental Protection Agency that it would begin cleanup efforts of the Quanta Resources superfund site in Edgewater.

"I am gratified the EPA is taking another step getting us closer to cleaning up this superfund site in the heart of our community. I look forward to closely reviewing the proposal. No longer an industrial base on the Hudson River, Edgewater of today is a fast-growing, diverse enclave and a vibrant part of North Jersey. Our community has demanded action. Cleaning up this site so Edgewater can continue to grow and attract new neighbors for the next generation of our state is essential. I encourage local residents to review the proposal, attend the public meeting later this month and share public comments with the EPA."
