Montclair State University is gearing up to offer a variety of Pre-College Summer Programs for high school students in summer 2024. According to Dominique Houze, the senior director for Strategy and Program Development at Montclair State University, the new Pre-Medical Professionals program is proving to be particularly popular among students this year. Houze expressed excitement about the program, emphasizing the importance of allowing students to explore different interests and experience college life firsthand.

Houze highlighted the educational aspect of the summer programs, stating that while they are designed to be enjoyable and free from the pressure of grades, they are still focused on learning. The ultimate goal, as described by Houze, is to introduce students to Montclair State University's campus, facilities, and academic environment early on.

Professor Lauren Carr, who will be teaching the Animation and VFX session, shared her enthusiasm for the program, recalling her own positive experience in a summer program during high school. Carr emphasized the fun and collaborative nature of the classes, ensuring that students can expect a laid-back atmosphere.

Similarly, Justice Studies Associate Professor Daniela Peterka-Benton emphasized the value of summer programs in expanding students' perspectives and helping them explore potential areas of interest. Peterka-Benton expressed happiness about the diverse range of programs offered by Montclair State University, providing high schoolers with the opportunity to discover new passions.

Montclair State University's Pre-College 2024 Summer Programs cover a wide array of subjects, from Animation and VFX to Law and Order, catering to students with various interests and career aspirations. The programs aim to provide a blend of educational experiences, hands-on learning opportunities, and exposure to different fields, all while fostering a supportive and engaging learning environment.
