It was an amazing weekend at the NJEA Equity Alliance Conference for Passaic County members! Beginning with an invocation delivered by Marco Martinez and a opening message from NJEA President Sean Spiller, to the presentation of awards including the Urban Activist Award by Urban Education Chair Todd Pipkin...we heard from three award winning members!
Congratulations to Lori Lalama, honored with the Elizabeth A. Allen Women in Education Award; the Passaic Optimist Club and their Vice-President Germaine Gibson who accepted the award; and Talena Queen, winner of this year's Urban Activist Award. It was a wonderful way to end a fantastic conference!
