Join us at Dey Mansion Washington's Headquarters on Saturday, January 8th at 1:00 p.m. as author Dr. Lucia McMahon shares a presentation on her book: "The Celebrated Elizabeth Smith: Crafting Genius and Transatlantic Fame in the Romantic Era."
Elizabeth Smith was a learned British woman born in the momentous year of 1776. She gained transnational fame posthumously for her extensive intellectual accomplishments. Through re-telling Smith’s fascinating life story, this book reveals a larger narrative about women’s efforts to enact fulfilling lives, and the cultural reactions such aspirations inspired in the early 19th century.
