Passaic County hosted its annual back-to-school giveaway last week, just in time for the start of school this week!
The Passaic County Commissioners are proud to support the annual back-to-school-drive hosted by the County in conjunction with the Passaic County Superior Court, the Sheriff’s Office, Passaic County Board of Elections, Passaic County Board of Social Services, Passaic County Commission on the Status of Women and Family Services of Passaic County.
This year, through the collective efforts of our partners and generous donors, we were able to collect 8,222 individual supplies. With that, 381 backpacks were filled and will be given out today to several agencies and schools throughout Passaic County.
Donations poured in from many departments, offices and agencies involved, including our partners mentioned previously and our Passaic County Department of Senior Services, Department of Health, Prosecutor’s Office, Preakness Valley Golf Course, Preakness Healthcare Center, Surrogate’s Office, the NJ Metro Rotary Club and so many individual county employees.
Thank you to all the kind donors, volunteers who packed the backpacks, and agencies who are collecting these donations on behalf of the families who will benefit from them.
Wishing everyone a health and productive school year.
